Intimate mountain weddings like Lindsey and Kevin’s are a special sight to behold. They are the epitome of laid back, and it made for the perfect early fall Canmore intimate wedding.
These two met through mutual friends in their industry. Their friend groups from work often met up at a bar for drinks after work, and Lindsey was convinced to join, where she met Kevin. Immediately, Lindsey saw something in Kevin that she liked. She set up one of his friends on a date, and he asked to be set up as well. When Lindsey asked what he was looking for in a partner, he said “marriage material”. This really struck Lindsey as her biggest dating complaint was men who wanted casual relationships, which isn’t what she was looking for. That was when she knew she wanted to be with Kevin.
For Kevin, it wasn’t quite so immediate! Instead, it was the process of getting to know Lindsey that made him fall for her. It was little things like her intentionality within the relationship, her passion to make it known how much she cared for him, and her initiative, asking him out to Denny’s for a first date.
When it came time to seal the deal, Kevin went all out with romance. He planned a rooftop proposal surrounded by photos of them both throughout their lives. Kevin got down on one knee and asked Lindsey to be his wife. She was completely shocked, something she says almost never happens. She said yes, of course! They set out to plan their perfect elopement day.
Kevin and Lindsey’s goal for their Canmore elopement was intimate, relaxed, and lowkey. As they planned they continued to scale back wherever they could. They chose the small mountain town of Canmore to host their intimate wedding, excited about the views they’d have for their day. With every part of their day, they emphasized how they wanted to focus on their connection, and the emotions that they felt throughout the day. A true celebration of their love.
Leading up to the wedding day, Lindsey’s biggest hope was that the smoke from wildfires would clear so they could have the gorgeous view of the mountains behind them while they said their vows. Prayers were answered, and a gorgeous blue sky greeted them at the altar, with the mountains showing off in the landscape.
They chose only their closest friends and family to attend their wedding, and didn’t have a wedding party. Instead, their best friends were given the honor of signing their marriage license as witnesses.
Intimate weddings and elopements create such a great opportunity to do something out-of-the-box for your reception. These two chose to head into town and get dinner at a local restaurant with all of their guests. These kind of receptions are so much more possible when you only bring a few people along.
Kevin and Lindsey got to spend their reception with those closest to them, and truly share their day with all of their guests. Instead of just a quick hello and a hug, they got to have real conversations, big laughs, and sweet, intimate moments.
Since the focus of their day was their love, Lindsey and Kevin didn’t put too much emphasis on the small details of the day. They let the location do the work. It made for a clean, fresh, and romantic elopement that spoke to who they are as a couple. Instead of looking outward, these two look to each other.
Kevin and Lindsey’s Canmore elopement was the perfect marriage of intimate wedding and elopement. They didn’t fuss over details, and invited the people they wanted there. They didn’t compromise what they wanted for someone else, and it paid off. Their joy and love was so clear throughout the day.

"Liv is extremely talented and great to work with! She gave us enough direction in our shoots to know what to do but still left tons of room for candid, genuine moments. Nothing beats seeing real smiles and laughter in your photos! She was more than willing to collaborate and go for some sillier ideas, and was always super encouraging. She's an incredibly sweet person and we felt very comfortable to be ourselves around her. Liv's talent is beyond just the technical knowledge, she really has an artist eye for beautiful photos. Her editing style is perfect, not too dark or light but still brings personality with the warm tones she adds. I HIGHLY recommend working with Liv!!"
