Imagine marrying the love of your life with your closest friends by your side and camping in yurts all weekend. Flora Bora is the cutest yurt accommodation, situated in a forest sanctuary and overlooking a small lake. Only 2 hours north of Saskatoon and near the beautiful Emma and Christopher lake, Flora Bora makes for the perfect elopement getaway!
Jenna and Lee knew they wanted a fun, relaxed wedding day—as soon as they found Flora Bora they were hooked! Once getting engaged they experienced much stress from family members to have a larger wedding. Knowing that wasn’t what they wanted, they used the pandemic as an excuse to elope.
They rented 3 yurts for themselves and their guests to get ready in and hangout for a few days together. Activities included swimming, hanging at the beach, hammocking, card games, and celebrating the fact that they were getting married!!
Jenna & Lee each got ready in a separate yurt with the help of their close friends. As anticipation for their ceremony started to build the girls celebrated with shots and the guys celebrated with cigars.
The ceremony was very important to both Jenna & Lee as this would be where they say “I do” and make things official. Both of them were looking forward to this part of the day, Jenna being slightly nervous as well. When I asked them both what their favourite memory from their elopement day was, this is the response I got:
“When I think back to our wedding day, I think of how much fun we had. I remember laughing so much that my face hurt the next day. My favourite memory is when Lee tried to play a game of slap hands in the middle of the ceremony! He knew I was nervous standing in front of everyone and was able to distract me while only embarrassing me a little!!” Jenna
“Watching Jenna walk down the isle was my favourite memory of our wedding day. She was stunning and looked so happy! She took my breath away.” Lee
Jenna & Lee only had 10 guests at their elopement, all who were very important to them. We took some fun group portraits while everyone goofed off. There was no pressure or strict timeline we had to stick to which allowed everyone to relax and just have fun.
Jenna & Lee have such a beautiful love story. They met in grade 7 if you can even believe it! They were good friends all throughout high school and didn’t start dating until the summer before grade 12.
When Jenna first met Lee she thought he was a troublemaker but she’s now fallen in love with his personality and the way he can become friends with anyone.
Lee’s first impression of Jenna was how beautiful she looked but also how great at sports she was. Now Lee’s favourite thing about Jenna is the way she pushed him to better himself every day, no matter the circumstances.
These two have always been inseparable, even their parents told them that while they were still in school together. Many of their friends call them “mom and dad” because of how long they’ve been together. Their relationship is looked up to by many, with friends telling them that someday they want a relationship as strong as theirs.
After the ceremony and some fun photos, Jenna & Lee celebrated with a taco dinner. All their guests helped prepare the food throughout the day allowing them all to relax in the evening and celebrate the newlyweds. They ate food, had drinks, played cards, and Jenna even arm wrestled the best man. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.

"Liv is extremely talented and great to work with! She gave us enough direction in our shoots to know what to do but still left tons of room for candid, genuine moments. Nothing beats seeing real smiles and laughter in your photos! She was more than willing to collaborate and go for some sillier ideas, and was always super encouraging. She's an incredibly sweet person and we felt very comfortable to be ourselves around her. Liv's talent is beyond just the technical knowledge, she really has an artist eye for beautiful photos. Her editing style is perfect, not too dark or light but still brings personality with the warm tones she adds. I HIGHLY recommend working with Liv!!"
